Lab manager
Anamary Tarifa PhD '15 manages FIU's Forensic & Analytical Toxicology Facility, running chromatographic instruments and training students and staff. As part of Dr. Jose Almirall's lab, she previously worked on a device to identify organic compounds in the air.
Toxicology expert
Maiko Kusano PhD '10, a forensic toxicology specialist, worked at Shimadzu Corporation in Kyoto, Japan, before becoming an assistant professor in Legal Medicine & Bioethics at Nagoya University. She was recognized as a Distinguished Alumna in 2015.
